Final stop today, the orchid and butterfly farm, beautiful, tranquil.

And today the elephants of Chiang Mai! They loved playing in the creek water, fun watching them.

Coolest temple of all, pitting good vs evil, personal decisions.

I'm pretty sure I've tangled up with this bad decision a few times.

Stopped at the Cabbages and Condom store. All proceeds of everything sold here goes to support the children born of AIDS infected mothers.

We stopped to try our hand at making Indigo at a lady's shop. Her son was being celebrated for his decision to become a monk. It was a town party of epic proportions! He was driven around on a throne in the back of a pick up truck, up and down the Main Street. Eventually, he will trade the white gown for the orange.

Eating a lotus pod

We stopped at a roadside stand to sample fried rat......oh hell no, oh HELL NO! I just took the pics! Cooked on the left, raw on the right, ugh.

The many temples of Thailand

I realized looking through my phone that I have so many pictures and experiences I hadn't posted so it's catch up time. Between getting out of Nepal just ahead of the quake and getting sick, I sort of had my head in the sand, just moving through the day. So, I'm going to try to do some catching up. Here goes!

Some of my last pics of Nepal. I think of the people I met and talked with and can't help but wonder if they survived. Nepal will stay on my mind for a long time. These are of a trip we made up the mountains. Unfortunately, the day wasn't real clear but loved seeing the countryside outside Kathmandu.
